Easter Cheer

Hi guys,

Happy Easter to everyone and to all the Easter brides and grooms, congratulations. What perfect weather for your special day. This Easter and for the first time this year I did not have a celebration to officiate BUT I did celebrate with family. that is what Easter is all about, family and friends and togetherness.

Easter Saturday was spent with my adorable 87 year old mother. Hubby Kevin and I took her on a picnic to hers' and our favourite spot, Cliff Street Reserve at Norah Head. I have officiated many weddings there and if you are thinking of a location then please go and have a look at Cliff Street Reserve, it is perfect. It is sheltered by evergreen bushy trees, has a couple of picnic tables and the view of the ocean is spectacular and it has the best view of Norah Head Lighthouse in the distance. We go there each year for our Christmas lunch. Mum is quite frail now but I am hoping that we will be able to take her there once again this coming Christmas.

Easter Sunday was another family gathering with my cousin Bill and his daughters, one of which is my God Child. We are very close and I regard her as the daughter that I never had. She is a lovely woman.Pity she is a Tigers supporter and not Manly but I love her anyway! Together with her daughter who is nearly 21 Yikes! and my husband, Kev and not forgetting the loveable husband of my GC's beautiful sister Nicki. The get to gether was at the Mooney Mooney Club. What a lovely lunch and laughs and family atmosphere we had.

So now it is Easter Monday and I have been working on a funeral ceremony a celebration of a lovely lady that lost her 6 month battle to lung cancer just before Easter. It is not fair! This lady was a beautiful daughter, friend and soul mate to her loving husband of thirty eight years. Her celebration of life will a beautiful testament to the person she was, to the happiness that she brought to others.

So Easter to me this year has been happy and yet sad but the celebration of both will be long remembered with gratitude, respect and love.

take care
warm regards

PS I must tell the Blog world.....I did not have one piece of chocolate in any form whatsoever over the Easter break!!! This would be a first for me in my nearly 60 years of living!!! Nor did I have an Easter Bun! Now that is something to celebrate!
